Zeus did not bind him with chains or lock him away. Instead, Atlas was ordered to hold up the sky.

Time passed, but the task did not change.
The sky remained above him, and Atlas remained beneath it.
He did not escape, and he did not set the burden down.

In ancient art and coins, Atlas is shown carrying the world or the heavens.
This pendant is inspired by that enduring image.
